A mother in Douglasville, Georgia, gave birth in her garage doorway in just nine minutes, and the entire event was captured on her Ring doorbell camera. Christina Mahone, 37, delivered her daughter Scotti Ann Mahone on June 12, 2026, at 2:12 p.m., weighing nine pounds and measuring 20 inches long.
Sudden labor caught on camera
Mahone said she began experiencing contractions around 10 a.m. and monitored them until her water broke at 2:03 p.m. Her 12-year-old daughter, Merci, called her father Damien, 39, while Christina attempted to get into her car to head to the hospital. However, she felt a sudden urge to push and could not get into the vehicle.
Damien arrived just three minutes before the birth and worked with 911 dispatch over the phone to deliver the baby in the garage. Within nine minutes of Christina's water breaking, Scotti Ann was born.
Rapid delivery caught family off guard
Christina described the experience as surreal. 'It was so quick and fast — it was crazy. I didn't make it to the hospital, and I didn't even make it out of my driveway,' she said. 'There wasn't much time to think about anything; it was like an out-of-body experience. My husband caught her. I couldn't even communicate to him what to do, but luckily he was on the phone with 911 dispatch.'
The mother of three noted that her contractions were not intense or closely spaced before her water broke. 'We went down to the garage to put everything in the car. As I went to move the car out of the garage, I physically could not get into the car. I knew she was too low, and as I walked around the hood of my car, she started to come. I yelled for my daughter to come catch her,' she recounted.
Gravity assisted the birth
Christina said she did not feel like she pushed; instead, gravity helped deliver her daughter. Mum and baby were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, and both received a clean bill of health.
She added, 'We had been planning on having both of our kids in the delivery room this time around, so they were already prepared to see everything — just not in our driveway. My husband did amazing. He was so calm, and I couldn't have had a better partner.'
