Logma: Iranian-Iraqi Fusion Cafe with Weekly Supper Club

Logma, a vibrant Iranian-Iraqi fusion cafe in Haggerston, has taken London by storm since its opening in late 2025. The name, meaning 'perfect bite' in Persian, Arabic, and Turkish, perfectly encapsulates the experience. Initially gaining fame for their kofte and aubergine sandwiches, which drew long queues along Goldsmiths Row, the cafe has now expanded its offerings with a weekly supper club called Logma Lates.

The Logma Lates Experience

Every Wednesday night, Logma transforms into an intimate dining space for just 18 guests. The bar seats six, while a long communal table encourages a true supper club atmosphere, where strangers become friends over exceptional food. The menu, a heartfelt tribute to both Iranian and Iraqi heritage, is served by owners Ziad Halub and Farsin Rabiee themselves.

Starters and Small Plates

The evening begins with sabzi khordan, an Iranian herb platter featuring a block of feta with olives, walnuts, and perfectly pink radishes, offering crunch and colour. Mint, basil, and tarragon provide a refreshing finish. Next come oysters dressed in spicy, zingy chilli and gondhoraj lebu citrus. However, the true standout is the courgette flower dolma, a modern take on Iraqi dolma. The stuffed flowers are served atop ricotta with saffron, charred broad beans, and barberries, leaving plates licked clean.

Main Course and Sides

Logma's Gulf-style fish pays homage to Iraq's national dish, masgouf. River carp is reimagined as sea bream, glazed with sweet-and-tangy tamarind, accompanied by blistered tropea onions, fermented green chillies, and crispy shallots. Iran shines through in the bright sabzi polo (Persian herb and saffron rice) with crunchy tahdig, a crispy rice crust that is a beloved staple.

Dessert and Drinks

To finish, traditional mahalbiya, an orange blossom milk pudding with pistachio, is served alongside tea, as befits an Iranian-Iraqi bistro. The drink selection includes coffees during the day, while Logma Lates are BYOB, allowing guests to bring their own beverages.

Atmosphere and Design

The space is artsy and chic, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, decorative lighting, and lace details. The aesthetic was created in collaboration with design duo Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad and Farrokh Aman, friends of the owners. Logma is more than a restaurant; it is a celebration of heritage, flavour, and culture. In a time when the Middle East is often portrayed through tragedy, gathering around Logma's table tells a different story: one of generosity, creativity, and joy.
