Cup of Joy, a trendy Istanbul coffee chain, is bringing its unique coffee experience to London for the first time this summer. The Turkish institution will open its debut UK location in Marylebone in July 2026.
Prime Location in Marylebone
The new coffee shop will be situated on Blandford Street, opposite the award-winning restaurant Jikoni. This prime spot is ideal for busy commuters, shoppers, and anyone in need of a quick pick-me-up.
Signature Coffee and Handmade Ceramics
Istanbul's coffee culture is legendary, blending centuries-old Turkish coffee traditions with a vibrant specialty scene. Cup of Joy's signature blend uses sustainably sourced Arabica beans from El Salvador, Brazil, and Colombia, featuring tasting notes of dark chocolate, orange, and hazelnut. The coffee is served in handmade, one-of-a-kind ceramics created by co-founder Gökçe Kalyoncu, a self-taught ceramist.
Food Menu Highlights
The food menu includes signature bagels stuffed with feta and heirloom tomatoes, Turkish eggs, pistachio porridge, and hearty toasties. In classic Istanbul style, there will also be a selection of sweet treats, including the signature Baba Au Tea, a poppy seed sponge infused with orange rooibos syrup and whipped cream.
Expansion from Bebek to London
Since its founding in the stylish Bebek neighborhood in 2013, Cup of Joy has opened eight locations across Turkey. The Marylebone venue will feature welcoming interiors designed by Benni Allen of Ebba Architects, who drew inspiration from his visits to Istanbul to bring the city's café culture to London.
Opening Details
Cup of Joy will open its doors at 28 Blandford Street, W1U 4BZ, in July 2026. Coffee lovers can soon enjoy a taste of Istanbul without the wall-to-wall sunshine.
