Free International Food Festival Coming to Camberwell Green in May
Free International Food Festival at Camberwell Green

A free international food festival is set to take over a South London green this May. Eat Around The World will be held on Camberwell Green on Saturday, May 16, from 11am to 7pm, offering a vibrant celebration of global cuisines and community spirit.

What to Expect at the Festival

Following last year's success, which drew an impressive 6,000 visitors, the 2026 edition promises to be even bigger. Attendees can explore over 80 stalls, four bars, live music, and a range of free family-friendly activities. The event will also feature a farmers' market, herbs and plants, and a free community lunch.

Cuisines from Around the World

Food lovers can indulge in dishes from across the globe, including the fiery spices of Asia, hearty African soul food, zesty Latin American flavors, Caribbean specialties, and the rich cuisines of the Middle East and Mediterranean. Each stall offers a taste of a different culture, reflecting Camberwell's diverse food scene.

Free Activities for Families

Children can enjoy a bouncy castle, zorb balls, a penalty shoot-out competition organized by Amuru children's charity, face painting, and arts and crafts stalls. Thanks to funding from Southwark Council, a free community lunch will be provided by Spring Community Hub food charity.

Community and Safety

The local Metropolitan Police team will be on site offering bike security marking. A variety of local charities and community groups will also be present, showcasing the best of Camberwell's vibrant community. Annette Cauneen from Urban Farmers' Market said: "This festival turns Camberwell Green into a global kitchen. Every stall opens a door to another culture, reflecting the extraordinary food landscape of Camberwell itself." She added that there is no need to book—simply turn up on the day and enjoy a celebration of food, culture, and community in the heart of SE5.
