The US bakery chain Cinnabon is making a return to the UK after disappearing from the high street in September 2025. This time, however, the brand isn’t reopening standalone cafés. Instead, it is relaunching through supermarket partnerships, bringing its signature flavours back to a supermarket near you.
A Sweet Comeback
Cinnabon’s absence was felt by fans who associated the brand with indulgent cinnamon swirls, rich frosting, and a distinctive bakery aroma often linked with international travel or shopping centre food courts. Shoppers can now enjoy Cinnamon Doughnuts and Cinnamon Muffins in Co-op stores nationwide as well as in selected ASDA stores from May 18, just in time for National Doughnut Week (May 16–24).
The Story Behind the Brand
Cinnabon was founded in Seattle over 40 years ago by a father and son. The brand set out on a search around the world for the best ingredients and its signature Makara cinnamon. This is what gives Cinnabon its unmistakable warmth, sweetness, and rich, comforting aroma.
According to reports, Brits' love of cinnamon has grown by almost 60% over the past decade. Whether it’s a slow morning coffee, a midday pick-me-up, or an afternoon treat shared with friends, it’s a simple way to add a little moment of joy into the everyday.
