London's curry houses have once again proven their culinary prowess, with 21 establishments from the capital named in the 2026 Guide to the UK's Top 100 Curry Restaurants. However, notably absent from the list is Brick Lane, long considered the heart of London's curry scene.
London Dominates the List
The Asian Catering Federation (ACF) announced the prestigious guide, highlighting the best curry spots across the UK. London's entries are spread across the city, including Soho, Holborn, Westminster, Tooting, and Perivale. Malaysian restaurant Laksamania in Soho claimed the gold medal, boasting a 4.4 out of 5 star rating on Google. Its menu features dishes like satay chicken, wasabi prawns, and duck rolls.
One delighted customer shared: "Easily one of the best nasi lemak in town. The dish is beautifully plated, with fragrant coconut rice, perfectly spicy sambal, and all the classic elements done just right. Every bite tastes authentic and comforting, like a proper homemade version but elevated. A place that truly respects the dish - I'll definitely be coming back."
