Katie Price Reverses Position on Husband's Academic Credentials

In a surprising turn of events, Katie Price has publicly walked back her previous assertion that her husband, Lee Andrews, obtained a PhD from Cambridge University. The 47-year-old former glamour model made this clarification during her first appearance on Good Morning Britain in years, participating in what was billed as a no-holds-barred interview with hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls.

Questionable Claims and Social Media Scrutiny

The interview focused heavily on Price's unexpected wedding to Dubai native Andrews, which occurred just weeks after they met. Since their February nuptials captured media attention, fans and observers have been attempting to uncover the true identity of this mysterious businessman, whose Instagram presence appeared heavily edited.

Initially, Andrews's social media profiles identified him as Dr. Lee Andrews, claiming he held a PhD from Cambridge University. However, the prestigious institution has confirmed they have no record of anyone with his name and provided birth date attending their programs.

Further scrutiny revealed that Andrews had posted images on his profile showing himself with celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk at what appeared to be a Dubai event for his brand. These photographs have since been exposed as AI-generated fabrications and removed from his accounts.

Price's Evolving Narrative

When pressed by Ed Balls about the PhD claims during the Good Morning Britain interview, Price offered a revised explanation: "He hasn't got a PhD from Cambridge. It's one in Spain. That's for him to say why he's got his PhD."

She continued, "But it's not for Cambridge. Don't know where that came from. He hasn't got a PhD in Cambridge at all. He has got a PhD. I've seen it all. I've seen everything I need to see," adding that the degree is not an honorary doctorate.

This clarification contradicts Price's own statements from just a week earlier, when she told The Sun she had examined extensive paperwork related to his education. "There was so much paperwork. His PhD, I looked through everything. The stamps are in wax, some of them. They're not fake," she claimed at the time. "You know when you've got certificates and it's got the watermarks, it's all like that. Everything he's shown me is so legit. They're not copies, they're originals."

Broader Controversies and Personal Defense

The academic credential controversy unfolds against a backdrop of other troubling reports about Andrews. It has been alleged that he has yet to settle the bill for their luxury Dubai hotel wedding nearly two months after the ceremony. Additionally, his ex-partner has publicly compared him to "the Tinder Swindler," suggesting he engages in deceptive practices.

Price acknowledged that the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before marrying but defended her husband against accusations of being a con artist. "I want to get to know him. He wants to get to know me," she explained, noting that Andrews has not yet met her children in person but has communicated with them via FaceTime.

The television personality concluded with a characteristically defiant statement: "No one will ever understand the way I do things."

Good Morning Britain continues to air weekdays on ITV1 beginning at 6:00 AM, featuring interviews with prominent figures and discussions of current events.
