Adam Thomas has opened up about a 'disturbing' message he received from David Haye after winning the I'm A Celebrity... All Stars final. The Emmerdale star, 37, was crowned champion of the South Africa edition last week, but his victory was overshadowed by ongoing tensions with the former heavyweight boxer.
Haye's Apology and 'Disturbing' Confession
Speaking on his podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bro's, Adam revealed that Haye reached out after the finale. 'Even after the camp, he told me: "You're the nicest guy I've ever met and I just wanted to break you",' Adam shared. 'It's cool, he apologised, I moved on. We've had voice messages back and forth, we've just been bantering, having a laugh, and I've just put it all to bed.'
However, Adam found the interaction troubling. 'That's the most disturbing bit for me when I look at David,' he said, referring to a voicenote from Haye. In the message, Haye said: 'Oh mate, what a great show that was, I'm so happy you won, congratulations.' Adam responded: 'Listen I think this is where I draw the line now. I hope you find happiness bro but I'm done now.'
Exploitation and Fallout
Adam reflected on feeling 'exploited' by the live finale, stating: 'I was just in the midst of it all and it wasn't even about me.' He contrasted his own desire for a fun experience with what he perceived as Haye's agenda, calling the boxer's behaviour 'disturbing'.
The drama doesn't end there. Fellow contestant Jimmy Bullard is reportedly considering legal action against ITV, claiming Adam's behaviour towards him was 'abusive, aggressive and intimidating'. Meanwhile, David Haye is said to be preparing to sue ITV for £10 million, alleging the channel 'irreparably damaged his brand'.
Adam's win was marred by a chaotic finale where Haye allegedly heckled him from the audience, leading Adam to throw his crown to the floor and leave. The fallout continues as tensions between the former campmates remain high.
