The wedding of Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and model Holly Ramsay was meant to be a joyous celebration, but it has been overshadowed by a dramatic family rift. New reports reveal that several of Peaty's close relatives were abruptly uninvited from the ceremony just days before the event, some via an impersonal automated message.
Automated Messages and Last-Minute Exclusions
The gold medallist, 30, married Ramsay, 25, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Bath Abbey in front of 200 guests. While the bride's side was well-represented by her father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, and A-list friends like David and Victoria Beckham, notable absences peppered the groom's side.
It has now emerged that Peaty's great aunt Janet, 73, and uncle Eddie were removed from the guest list mere days before the wedding. A source told The Sun they received an automated message informing them they were no longer invited and to respect the couple's decision. The message was described as “so impersonal” and arrived just four days before the ceremony, after the pair had allegedly spent hundreds of pounds on accommodation, outfits, and gifts.
A Family Divided
The exclusions extended far beyond Janet and Eddie. Peaty's mother, Caroline Peaty, was reportedly ‘banned’ from the nuptials altogether. His father, Mark, was allegedly invited but told he would have to ‘sit at the back of the church behind the plus ones’, a condition that led him to decline attending.
Further discord involved Peaty's brother, James, 34, who was uninvited after being arrested upon returning from the Budapest stag do for allegedly sending threats to Adam. He was later released on bail.
The swimmer's aunt, Louise—Caroline's sister—was also not invited. Hours before the ceremony, she sent Peaty a searing message, stating: “I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through... Shame on you both.” She added he should remember on his wedding day “that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.” Reports indicate Adam had blocked family messages and did not receive it.
Contrasting Support and a Dig from Gordon Ramsay
The atmosphere on Holly Ramsay's side was starkly different. Gordon Ramsay publicly expressed his love for his new son-in-law on Instagram before the wedding. However, during his father-of-the-bride speech, he reportedly made a pointed comment. According to reports, Gordon said his wife Tana ‘will be a good mum to them both’, later adding to Holly, “Shame you don’t have the same,” in an apparent dig at the situation with Adam's mother.
The fallout also affected friends. Fellow gold medallist Michael Gunning, a guest at the couple's engagement party, was reportedly uninvited and is said to feel ‘very hurt’.
The only close relation of Adam's in attendance was his sister, Bethany, who served as a bridesmaid. The bridesmaids wore red Victoria Beckham gowns. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Kin House in Wiltshire, with guests wearing security wristbands bearing the couple's new double-barrelled initials.
Neither Adam Peaty nor Holly Ramsay has publicly addressed the family drama. Both have since changed their social media handles to incorporate each other's names, with Adam now using @adamramsaypeaty and Holly using @hollyramsaypeaty.
