Meghan Markle has offered fans a glimpse of her next venture just days before she and Prince Harry are set to return to the UK for an extended stay. The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram to share a teaser of upcoming products from her lifestyle brand, As Ever, fueling speculation about the couple's plans while in Britain.
Teaser hints at new product line
In a video posted to the As Ever Instagram page, the 45-year-old is seen carrying a basket of apples and picking fruit from trees. The caption read: “A little hint of what’s coming.” The clip has sparked excitement among followers, though no specific products or launch dates were confirmed.
As Ever, described as a food and homeware brand “inspired by her long-lasting love of cooking, entertaining, and hostessing with ease,” already sells jams, spreads, wine, candles, tea, and pantry staples. Its website states: “This curated collection has been crafted to elevate your everyday and inspire moments of joy.”
Extended UK stay and new residence
Harry and Meghan are expected to arrive in the UK at the end of August and remain for an extended period, according to earlier reports. The couple will keep their £11 million home in Montecito, California, while staying in a non-royal residence in the UK. They will not resume royal duties.
It is understood they have already secured accommodation and school places for their two children, Archie and Lilibet. The move has raised questions about how the couple will earn a living during their time in Britain.
Business ventures and acting comeback reports
Since stepping down from royal duties and relocating to the US in 2020, Harry and Meghan have launched several business and media projects. These include multiple Netflix series and a previous podcast deal with Spotify, which ended in 2023 when the streaming service and the couple “mutually agreed to part ways.” Harry also published his autobiography, Spare, detailing his life in the Royal Family and his early relationship with Meghan.
Meghan was reportedly in “advanced talks” to return to acting, with a role in Guy Ritchie’s comedy-drama series The Gentlemen said to be under consideration. However, royal author Tina Brown, a former editor of Tatler and Vanity Fair, claimed on X that the casting had been withdrawn due to intense public backlash in the UK. Brown wrote: “I learned this morning the casting of Meghan in The Gentlemen has been withdrawn. The backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable. This does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the UK.”
Netflix executives were reportedly eager to see Meghan return to the small screen, but the reported backlash may have derailed those plans. Neither Meghan nor Netflix have publicly commented on the claims.
