Kayali, the viral fragrance brand founded by Mona Kattan, has launched its first-ever bodycare collection, expanding the House of Yum range with a Silk Soufflé Body Cream and a Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm in both pistachio and marshmallow scents. The products are now available to shop at Sephora, Cult Beauty, and Space NK, according to an exclusive report by Metro.
New products promise up to 24 hours of hydration
The Silk Soufflé Body Cream offers up to 24 hours of hydration in a whipped, weightless texture, designed to keep skin soft and sweetly scented. The Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm is intended as a throughout-the-day top-up for a hydration boost. Both products are priced at £48 for the body cream and £23 for the lip balm.
Speaking to Metro, Kattan explained that the decision to expand the Yum collection came from a desire to help fans mix and match scents to their mood. “We took our time getting the products right, and there was a lot of work behind the scenes refining the formulas, testing different versions and gathering feedback; I needed the formulas to feel amazing,” she said.
Layering scents for personal expression
Kattan, a personal fan of layering scents, noted that customers are equally invested in creating something personal through bodycare, whether worn alone or with the matching scent to amplify it. She highlighted the gourmand fragrance trend’s ability to “transport you somewhere instantly – they can make you feel cosy, nostalgic, sexy, carefree depending on how you layer them.”
For a sweet marshmallow mix, Kattan recommends layering the Silk Soufflé Body Cream with the co-ordinating Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 Eau de Parfum. “But if I want something different, I’ll use that same gourmand base and layer another fragrance over it,” she added.
Products designed as an act of self-love
Kattan’s goal for the new range is for it to be treated as an act of self-love. “You don’t need a special occasion to make yourself smell delicious or to enjoy a beautiful body cream or lip product. You can create that feeling for yourself every single day,” she said.
She advises applying the 81 Silk Soufflé Body Cream after a shower, taking time to massage it in for super-soft skin, noting the whipped texture leaves no heavy or greasy feeling. The Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm can be applied as often as needed throughout the day for a high-shine, skin-softening layer of moisture.
Beauty editor verdict: strong scents and luxurious texture
A Metro beauty editor tested the products and reported that the Silk Soufflé Body Cream has a texture between a thick cream and a whipped mousse, feels expensive, and delivers a big fragrance payoff. It absorbs quickly despite its thickness, making it suitable for dry skin types. The Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81 scent is described as very sweet, heady, with notes of strawberry, pink marshmallow, coconut, and vanilla that last impressively long. The Pistachio Gelato | 33 scent offers slightly saltier, biscuity notes with pistachio, hazelnut, jasmine, geranium, sandalwood, and tonka, but is softer than the fragrance without being overpowering. Both body creams are so strongly scented they can be worn alone without the Eau de Parfums.
The Cashmere Kiss Lip Balm, the editor’s favourite, features a doughnut applicator that feels plush, and the scents are not overpowering. The marshmallow scent has a slight pink tint that does not stain but makes lips look plump and glossy while soothing dry, chapped skin. The editor noted it has already become an everyday item.
For Kattan, both the new body creams and lip balms have the quality she always looks for in a gourmand fragrance: “You smell it once and immediately want to smell it again and again.”
