Mollie Gallagher lands Silence of the Lambs stage role after Coronation Street exit
Mollie Gallagher joins Silence of the Lambs stage play

Coronation Street fans mourning the departure of Mollie Gallagher can look forward to seeing her on stage in a radically different role. Gallagher, who played the beloved goth Nina Lucas, will star as FBI agent Clarice Starling in a theatrical adaptation of the classic horror film Silence of the Lambs.

From the Cobbles to the stage

Gallagher joined Coronation Street in 2019 as Nina Lucas, the long-lost niece of Roy Cropper (David Neilson). Her character quickly became a fan favourite, known for her quirky Victorian goth style and warmth. Nina's most harrowing storyline, inspired by the real-life murder of Sophie Lancaster, saw her and boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) brutally attacked by Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) and his gang due to Nina's alternative appearance.

Gallagher's decision to leave the soap marks the end of Nina's time on the Cobbles, dashing hopes of a romantic reunion with best friend Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey).
