The BBC has officially set the date for the highly anticipated return of its smash-hit psychological game show, The Traitors. The fourth season will launch on New Year's Day, Thursday 1 January 2026, at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The format remains as deviously compelling as ever. 22 contestants from across the United Kingdom will once again travel to a remote Scottish castle, where they will be secretly divided into two groups: the Faithful and the Traitors. Their collective goal is to win a prize pot of £120,000, but only if the Faithful can identify and banish all the deceivers in their midst.
The BBC has promised the new series will deliver "even more twists, turns, secrets, epic missions, deception, banishments and, of course, murders aplenty." The excitement doesn't end with the main show. The official companion programme, Uncloaked, will also return. Hosted once again by Ed Gamble, it will air on BBC One, BBC Two (for the first episode), and BBC Sounds.
The announcement follows the record-breaking success of the celebrity edition. Official figures confirmed that 15 million viewers tuned in for the finale of Celebrity Traitors, making it the biggest show of the year.
