Viewers Cry Foul Over Controversial Trial Decision
Fans of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! have erupted in anger after rapper Aitch was denied victory in what many are calling a 'sham' Bushtucker Trial during Thursday night's dramatic episode. The ITV reality show marked a significant moment by reintroducing the live trial format for the first time in six years, but the outcome left viewers feeling bitterly disappointed.
The Dramatic Head-to-Head Showdown
The tense situation unfolded when close friends, influencer Angry Ginge and rapper Aitch, were selected to compete in a gruesome drinking challenge. Their task was to chug the notorious Cocktails of Cruelty – a revolting mixture containing blended sheep's brains, goats' testicles and roaches – faster than their opponent.
After several intense minutes, Aitch appeared to have triumphed when his glass stood empty. However, hosts Ant and Dec delivered the shocking verdict that he had created 'too much spillage' during the attempt. Meanwhile, Ginge had consumed most of his drink but still had dregs remaining at the bottom of his glass.
In a dramatic twist, Ginge was given a final opportunity to down the remaining liquid and claim victory, but he fumbled at the crucial moment and spilled his own drink. This led to a heated discussion between the presenters and the two contestants, ultimately resulting in Dec declaring: 'Neither one of you has won this round, there's too much spillage. You are both in danger, and you both have to take your seat on the danger bench.'
The decision left Aitch visibly frustrated, with the rapper putting his head in his hands and declaring 'this is ridiculous' as the controversy unfolded.
Social Media Explodes With Outrage
While Ant and Dec appeared to support the ruling, viewers quickly took to social media platforms to express their fury and support for Aitch. The backlash was immediate and widespread, with many fans claiming the rapper had been unfairly treated.
BradleyXO wrote: 'Should've gave it to Aitch what a sham,' while @hannahbatt3rsby added: 'Baffled about the Aitch/Ginge disqualification. Aitch clearly won.'
Other viewers questioned the fairness of the rules, with @iya0x commenting: 'Ant & Dec should of mentioned if there's any spillage then you're in danger, unfair on Aitch and Ginge.'
@BethFoden agreed, writing: 'Naa I'd be fuming if I was Aitch and Ginge! It didn't even look like they spilled that much tbh!'
Some sympathy was also directed toward Ginge, particularly after he was made to finish his drink only to still be denied victory. @jimmymutch reflected: 'If you drink that ginge you win (ginge drinks it) wait no you didn't win. that's wrong that,' while @dystainak called the situation 'crazy.'
The November 28th episode also featured other dramatic moments, including Vogue Williams winning her challenge against Kelly Brook before being thoroughly traumatised and vomiting up her cocktail immediately afterward.
This season of I'm A Celebrity has already delivered several shocking Bushtucker Trials, including one earlier this week where Aitch impressed viewers by successfully completing a task while hundreds of insects and several snakes were thrown at him. Another memorable trial saw Alex Scott and Shona McGarty competing in the 'Eye to Eye' challenge, which required them to squeeze juice from a raw fish eye into a shot glass using only their mouths – a spectacle viewers declared one of the 'most disgusting trials ever.'
I'm A Celebrity continues to air at 9pm on ITV1, though Thursday's controversial decision has certainly given fans plenty to discuss between episodes.
