Emmerdale star Bradley Riches has hinted at a potential scene between his character Lewis Barton and returning villain Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), describing her as a 'gay icon' after fans clamoured for the pair to meet.
Fan demand for Sadie and Lewis scene
Riches revealed that he and Kensit got on well backstage, sparking social media calls for a scene. 'I bumped into Patsy Kensit behind stage. She was very welcoming, I was trying to welcome her back as well. I saw a lot of comments on my social media. "Patsy is coming back! Is that true? We need a Lewis and Patsy scene." Apparently, she's a bit of a gay icon!'
Sadie King, first arriving in a helicopter, is known for her 'evil-chic' style and ruthless schemes. She has caused chaos in the village, including affairs with her husband Jimmy King's brother Matthew and Robert Sugden, swindling Zoe Tate out of Home Farm, and paying Cain Dingle to sabotage the King family's River show home, leading to an explosion that killed three residents. Her revenge plot against Tom King backfired when Cain double-crossed her and ran off with the £2,000,000 ransom.
Potential clashes with other villagers
Now returning, Sadie is expected to clash with many who crossed her, including Cain Dingle, Jimmy King (whose tragic demise has been hinted), Nicola King, Charity Dingle, Joe Tate, and possibly Kim Tate. Riches noted that Lewis, a barista at Cafe Main Street, has a knack for bonding with unlikely characters, such as his father Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill). 'Since chaos follows Sadie like sheep follow Sugdens, it's not out of the realms of possibility to imagine her tangling with Kev in some capacity – criminal or otherwise,' Riches added.
Lewis's drink choice for Sadie
When asked what drink Sadie would order, Riches joked: 'I will definitely get her a matcha. I don't know if she's a matcha girl. Maybe a floral tea is her energy. Or an Earl Grey with a dash of milk. That's quite boojie. Is she a boojie character? She gives big boojie energy in real life.' He added that working in the café allows Lewis to interact with many characters, and he looks forward to welcoming Sadie.
