Emmerdale fans tuning in for their nightly dose of drama are in for a disappointment this evening, as the beloved soap has been unexpectedly pulled from the television schedule.
Why is Emmerdale not on TV tonight?
The culprit behind the sudden change is a familiar one for ITV viewers: live football. The broadcaster is showing England's World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Wednesday, November 13, 2025.
Coverage for the crucial match begins at 7pm, running straight through the programme's usual timeslot. This has forced ITV to temporarily bump the residents of the Yorkshire Dales from the line-up.
When will Emmerdale return?
Thankfully, the wait for the next episode is a short one. ITV has confirmed that Emmerdale will be back on our screens tomorrow, Friday, November 14.
The soap will resume its regular place in the schedule with a 30-minute episode starting at 7.30pm. According to a preview from the Radio Times, the plot promises high drama. Kev is sent spiralling, Paddy is troubled and Eve thinks she has spotted her grandfather.
The episode will be followed by the week's final instalment of Coronation Street, which will air for a full hour from 8pm.
This is not the last time viewers will see such disruptions, as a major shake-up for ITV's soap schedule is planned for 2026.
