Corrie spoilers: Jodie targets Kit, Debbie's dementia worsens

Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) turns her attention to Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in next week's Coronation Street, as her manipulative games escalate. Meanwhile, Debbie Webster's (Sue Devaney) dementia symptoms continue to intensify, and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) prepares to leave Weatherfield.

Jodie's new target

Jodie, known for her obsessive behaviour, begins to eye up Kit Green, mostly to spite Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon). As she makes a move on the crestfallen copper, she also ramps up her vitriolic treatment of her sister, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).

On Tuesday, September 1, Jodie tells Shona and Bethany that she was given community service for her assault on Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien). The following day, after overhearing Bethany arrange a date, Jodie tries to rain on her parade. When Bethany snaps back, Jodie turns her attention to Kit, asking him on a date.

On Thursday, September 3, as Bethany tries to enjoy a drama-free second date with Roman, her hopes are dashed when Jodie and Kit arrive. Bethany is forced to explain the dramatic backstory to Roman, before she clashes with Jodie in front of the whole bistro. Meanwhile, Shona is furious that Jodie is going on a date with Kit while helping out with Harper in David's absence.

Debbie's dementia struggle

Debbie's dementia symptoms continue to intensify, and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) tries to help. On Monday, August 31, Ronnie offers to take over the meeting with their suppliers, but Debbie assures him she's up to it. He gently reminds her to swap her slippers for shoes. Later, at the hotel, Ronnie tells her she's still wearing her slippers, and a confused and distressed Debbie suggests it's time they went home.

On Thursday, September 3, Debbie relives her past as a hairdresser and treats Bethany to a full 80's makeover, though Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) comes to the rescue as she picks up her scissors. Overcome with confusion, Debbie rushes out and suffers a meltdown when she finds Ronnie drinking at the hotel bar.

On Friday, September 4, Kevin and Abi Webster (Michael Le Vell and Sally Carman-Duttine) take Debbie out to discuss her birthday plans, though Ronnie suggests they aim for low-key, given her recent symptoms.

Nina's farewell

On Sunday, August 30, Nina prepares to leave Weatherfield. She invites her friends Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) for goodbye drinks at the Rover's. Nina later shares an emotional moment with Abi as the two spend time in Seb Franklin's (Harry Visinoni) memorial garden. With all of her ducks in a row, Nina bids her loved ones goodbye, before heading to Whitby with Roy in tow.

Other storylines

On Tuesday, September 1, still in debt to dodgy Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), Ronnie tells Carl that he's thinking about stealing Idris' car to wipe their slate clean. Carl manages to snatch the key and hands it to Ronnie, but he's in two minds about how to proceed. On Wednesday, September 2, Idris is furious at the loss of his car and accuses Ronnie before flooring him with a punch, before Carl pleads with Ronnie to let it go for the sake of Debbie.

Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) stands by her mum Bernie's (Jane Hazlegrove) side as they face an uncertain future following the revelation of a family secret. When Bethany tells her she's worried about Kit's mood swings, Gemma's forced to confront the idea of telling all to Bethany.

Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) continues to struggle through her recovery post-stroke. On Tuesday, September 1, Betsy is annoyed when Lauren visits but spends the entire time with her nose in her phone before she admits to Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) that she's lonely. On Wednesday, September 2, Betsy is able to stand for the first time since her stroke, and Lauren suggests that she and Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) deliver her some of his cake.

On Friday, September 4, Lauren forces Betsy to go out for lunch, but an off-colour joke from Debbie when she knocks some cutlery off the table leaves her mortified. Elsewhere, Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) can't help but tell Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) and Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) that their night together is the current gossip in the factory.
