Celebrity Traitors Series 2 Cast Revealed
The official line-up for The Celebrity Traitors series two has been unveiled, featuring an impressive roster of 21 celebrities. Among them are Hollywood legend Richard E. Grant, The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey, EastEnders icon Ross Kemp, and actor Michael Sheen. While some have questioned the number of British comedians included, such as Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett, the casting team has clearly earned their salary this year.
Comparison with US Version Sparks Outrage
The announcement follows a star-studded first series featuring Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, and Celia Imrie. In contrast, the US version of the show has been populated mostly by reality TV stars and, notably, Michael Rapaport. This disparity in star power has not gone unnoticed by fans overseas.
On X, user SailorSammy93 questioned why the UK version attracts “actual celebrities” while the US version relies on “C- and D-listers.” Another user, pearIkeyring, remarked that having Myha'la and Bella Ramsey not even being the most famous cast members is “crazy.” Idkitsmarie expressed amazement and excitement at the line-up, while lbruno described it as “stacked.” D_mozarella commented, “Only the best for a legendary programme.” Others noted that UK celebrities compete for charity, unlike their US counterparts who play for personal gain.
Recent US Series Highlights
The recently concluded fourth US series saw Love Island star Maura Higgins lose after being betrayed by her Traitor ally Rob Rausch. He voted off fellow Traitor Eric Nam and claimed the jackpot. During the show, Maura clashed with Michael Rapaport, whose loud personality made him many enemies. At one banishment, she caught him using the word “we” when referring to murdered Faithfuls, leading to a heated exchange where she suggested he “maybe just stop talking.”
UK Cast Arrives in Scotland
The UK participants have begun arriving in Inverness, Scotland, where the show is filmed. Among them is Love Island host Maya Jama, who reportedly took a £760,000 pay cut to appear. A source told The Sun: “She loved watching the first Celebrity Traitors series with her boyfriend Rúben and is so excited to get filming. She can’t wait to do some fibbing and be as deceitful as possible to try to win it.” The insider added that “the money was secondary to taking part,” describing her as “obsessed” with the show.
