The adventure of a lifetime is about to begin as Celebrity Race Across the World returns to BBC One with a brand new series for 2025. This time, the action shifts to the stunning and diverse landscapes of the Americas, where four pairs of celebrities and their loved ones will trade their comfortable lives for an epic backpacking challenge.
Meet the 2025 Celebrity Contestants
The BBC has unveiled a compelling mix of personalities for this year's competition. The four duos setting off on this incredible journey are:
- Anita Rani, the renowned broadcaster and writer, who is teaming up with her father, Bal.
- Dylan Llewellyn, the popular actor, who is racing alongside his mother, Jackie.
- Tyler West, the presenter and DJ, and his partner, Molly Rainford, the actor and singer.
- Roman Kemp, the well-known broadcaster, who is joining forces with his sister, the singer-songwriter Harleymoon.
Each pair will rely on their wits, teamwork, and a limited budget to navigate one of the most ambitious routes the show has ever seen.
The Epic Route and Race Details
The 2025 series kicks off on the idyllic Isla Mujeres, a Caribbean island that marks the most eastern point of Mexico. From this paradise starting line, the teams face a monumental task: to race 5,900 kilometres across Central and South America.
Their ultimate goal is to reach the remote and breathtaking Penisnsula de La Guajira in Colombia, the gateway to South America. The route promises to take them through the undiscovered Caribbean and along the spectacular Pacific coast, offering viewers a visual feast.
What the Stars Have to Say
Ahead of the race, the celebrities shared their excitement and motivations. Anita Rani commented, "I think all of it is going to be quite surprising. I think even though I've been on TV for such a long time, I'm not sure people really know much about me. So I think people will see a whole new side of me for the very first time."
Dylan Llewellyn expressed his enthusiasm for the adventure, stating, "I wanted to take part because it's such an amazing experience to be had... And to do it with my mum is a huge bonus. It's a once in a lifetime thing to do, and to do it with a loved one is even better."
For couple Tyler West and Molly Rainford, this is a departure from their usual holidays. Molly revealed, "We always stick to our comfort zone, all inclusive, just one location. This will be a new experience." Tyler added that he believes the challenge will bring them closer together.
Roman Kemp highlighted the unique opportunity to create lasting memories with his sister, saying, "With this, it's such a privilege to be able to do something so special with your sister."
