Casualty appeared to have suffered a bout of World Cup fever yesterday, as they accidentally revealed a major plot twist ahead of the boxset’s finale. The BBC One medical drama is nearing the end of their latest mini-series Lethal Legacy.
Rash Masum's Journey to Consultant
The series has primarily focused on Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) clashing with army boss Jack Baird (Mark Womack), as well as Dylan Keogh’s (William Beck) struggle after discovering Matty Linlaker (Aron Julius) and Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) had been sleeping together. Alongside these dramatic storylines, we’ve also seen Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) progress in his journey to becoming a consultant.
The character began this boxset working on the NICU ward in the hospital as part of his rotation. He then ventured back downstairs to join his colleagues in the ED. Rash was introduced to us way back in 2017, and has worked his way up from an F1 to a Clinical Fellow. Rash becoming a consultant and working more closely with the likes of Stevie, Dylan and Flynn is something fans have been hoping to see.
Instagram Spoiler Reveals Promotion
After struggling with his mental health following the death of his father in 2024, Rash has worked hard to move forward from one of the darkest periods of his life. It looks as though all of that perseverance is about to pay off, as the Casualty Instagram page recently dropped a huge spoiler about Rash. The social media account shared a number of snaps of cast members ahead of the World Cup semi-final match last night, which saw England go head to head with Argentina. (It wasn’t good news for England, by the way).
In the reel of pictures, actor Neet is seen holding some flags outside the ED. While the focus was meant to be on the cast cheering the team on and enjoying the World Cup hype, fans in the comments have noticed Neet is wearing blue scrubs, which means Rash will soon become a consultant!
Fans reacted with excitement: ‘Consultant rash!!!!!!’, Jess said. This follower wrote: ‘RASH FINALLY IN THE RIGHT COLOUR’. Tara wrote in excitement: ‘consultant rash let’s gooooo!!!’ Clearly buzzing, this fan simply said: ‘RASH BLUE SCRUBS’. This Casualty lover summed things up perfectly and put: ‘OMOGMOMGOMGOMGOMG RASH IS CONSULTANT OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOM’.
Dylan's Alcohol Relapse and Accident
In this week’s episode of Casualty, concern will continue to grow for Dylan following his alcohol relapse. He will make his way to a care home, to see his troubled father Brian (David Beames). The meeting ends badly, which means Dylan’s emotions are heightened while he’s driving home. He calls Matty, and talks in his voicemail about how he believes he can be a better father. Matty and Stevie listen, but disaster strikes, as the message ends with a loud crash. The team in the ED then learn that Dylan is being brought into the hospital with spine, neck and head injuries. Can they save him?
