ITV star Andi Peters made an on-air blunder on Thursday morning's episode of Good Morning Britain, forgetting the name of co-host Adil Ray while live from the Tower of London.
Awkward moment live on air
During his on-location competition segment, Peters threw the show back to the studio after wrapping up his spiel. He said, 'I'm off to St Paul's Cathedral now. Ranvir and…' before hesitating, unable to recall who was anchoring with Ranvir Singh that day. Despite Ranvir trying to help by saying 'Adil', Peters asked into the ether, 'Who's on the show today?' Adil Ray then interjected with an outraged 'What?', raising his hands in exasperation and shaking his head.
Peters apologises and explains
Quick to correct himself, Peters scrambled to explain his brain fog: 'Sorry Adil. No, Adil, the thing is, I didn't sleep last night. I just didn't sleep, and I can feel this fog in my head today.' Adil soon got in on the joke, quipping back, 'It's fine John, it's absolutely fine John, no worries John.' Peters giggled and added, 'Exactly, it's absolutely fine, Michael Underwood,' eliciting laughter from both presenters.
Live TV hazards
Good Morning Britain has seen its share of chaotic moments. Last week, character Mr Blobby caused host Kate Garraway to topple out of her chair. Earlier this month, an overlooked sign at a music festival accidentally showed the C-word on air. An ITV spokesperson apologised for the expletive. Good Morning Britain airs every weekday morning on ITV from 6am.
