Alan Carr 'Lined Up' for Strictly Come Dancing Host Role After Traitors Win
Alan Carr 'Lined Up' for Strictly Come Dancing Host Role

Fresh from his triumphant victory on Celebrity Traitors, comedian Alan Carr is reportedly being lined up for one of the most coveted roles in British television – hosting Strictly Come Dancing.

The 49-year-old comic, who won £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK on Thursday night's finale, is said to be in contention to replace Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly after their shock announcement last month that they will step down at the end of the current series.

From Traitors Castle to the Ballroom

Alan Carr emerged as the scene-stealing victor of Celebrity Traitors, charming audiences with his witty one-liners and infectious giggling even while executing treacherous moves. His performance captivated millions, ultimately convincing fellow contestants Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga that he was a Faithful right until the dramatic finale.

Now, BBC executives are reportedly considering bringing Carr's unique brand of exuberance to the Strictly ballroom. A source told The Mirror: 'Alan's comedy talents were showcased perfectly in the Traitors castle and it's reminded many people just how funny he is.'

Double Comeback on the Cards

But Strictly might not be the only comeback in Carr's future. His Bafta-winning talk show Chatty Man, which aired on Channel 4 from 2009 to 2017 and won Best Entertainment Performance in 2013, is also reportedly being eyed for a reboot.

The source added: 'It would be no surprise if Chatty Man now got a reboot – not necessarily on Channel 4 – and the Beeb could do way worse than letting Alan loose in the ballroom. He'd be a hoot.'

Unexpected Competition Emerges

Carr isn't the only name being floated for the prestigious Strictly role. Drag Race UK star La Voix has been actively making their case during the current series, even joking with Winkleman about sending their CV to the BBC and delivering a spot-on impersonation of the host.

During the Halloween special, La Voix stood in Tess Daly's place to announce a dance before asking: 'How did I do?' to which Tess replied: 'Nailed it.' This has led some fans to speculate about a potential hosting partnership between Alan Carr and La Voix.

The source noted that even people who previously claimed not to like Carr have been converted by his Traitors performance, saying they've 'loved watching him laugh and lie his way through the episodes.'

Both the BBC and Alan Carr's representatives have been approached for comment regarding these exciting developments.
