Ever After Garden: 30,000 Glowing Roses Illuminate Chelsea
30,000 glowing roses light up Chelsea for charity

A breathtaking sea of light has descended upon one of London's most fashionable districts, as the Ever After Garden makes its Chelsea debut. More than 30,000 glowing white roses now illuminate Duke of York Square, creating a poignant and beautiful tribute that raises crucial funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

A Luminous Tribute for a Vital Cause

This moving winter installation, which has become a cherished annual event in the capital, invites visitors to remember loved ones in a unique and serene setting. Launched for its 2025 season by acclaimed actor Helena Bonham Carter at a special event on Tuesday evening, the garden offers a space for quiet reflection amidst the hustle of the King's Road.

Bonham Carter described the act of dedicating a rose as "a unique and imaginative way to remember those we love… while supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity's work to save the lives of people with cancer."

How to Participate and Visit

Members of the public are encouraged to dedicate a rose in memory of a loved one with a suggested donation of £15. This contribution directly supports life-saving cancer research at The Royal Marsden. For those unable to make the journey to Chelsea, dedications can also be made conveniently online via the charity's website.

The power of these individual tributes is immense. Since its first appearance in 2019, the Ever After Garden has raised an incredible more than £1.2 million for the charity, funding breakthroughs that benefit cancer patients across the UK and beyond.

The Story Behind the Blossoms

The installation was originally conceived by co-founders Anya Hindmarch and Camilla Morton as a tribute to their late friend, the renowned production designer Michael Howells. His work on the film Ever After inspired the garden's evocative name.

"The Ever After Garden holds a special place in the hearts of so many people," said Hindmarch. "Every dedication helps fund research that leads to breakthroughs for cancer patients."

This year's move to Duke of York Square is supported by Headline Partner Brookfield, Supporting Partner Nationwide Building Society, and Location Partner Cadogan.

The garden is open daily from 3pm to 9pm and will remain in place until Tuesday, 16 December 2025. Please note that on Saturday, 15 November, hours will be altered, with opening from 5.30pm to 9pm. Admission to the display is completely free, offering everyone the chance to experience its tranquil beauty.
