NatWest has confirmed it will close 14 branches in May 2026, with affected locations and dates now released. The closures are part of a broader trend as more customers move to online banking, putting pressure on high street banks.
Reasons Behind the Closures
The bank cited declining footfall and a dramatic surge in digital transactions. A NatWest spokesperson said: "Banking has changed dramatically in recent years. There's more demand for mobile and online services, allowing you to benefit from a faster and easier way to bank." Customers can still access face-to-face services at any NatWest or RBS branch.
