Didn’t think you’d fall for a viral brand? I was once like you. As soon as I fell pregnant, I insisted I’d never succumb to the allure of TikTok-endorsed brands flooding my algorithm. These products, often promoted only by influencers, are aesthetically pleasing but raise skepticism about their practicality, quality, and value for money.
One Brand Bucking the Trend
One brand that seems to be defying expectations and causing me to eat my words is Swedish brand Najell. It’s wildly viral yet appears genuinely good. If you’re a parent or parent-to-be, you’ve likely spotted its famous sleep carrier on your social media feeds.
I remember first encountering Najell, which boasts a gloriously chic and Scandinavian design, spotted on celebrities like Lily Collins, who uses the brand’s Rise carrier. Importantly, it maintains practicality alongside style. The buzz was hard to ignore, thanks to TikTok, but the hype extended beyond social media when friends regretted not buying the £145 carrier for their newborns after hearing glowing testimonials from other parents.
Introducing the Najell Easy Vol. 2
Then Najell announced its latest wearable baby carrier, the Easy Vol. 2, right as I was deep into researching baby carriers. Before I knew it, the delivery man dropped off my package. The brand, known for simple product design, already offers carriers like the Original and Rise, but the revamped Easy is touted as ‘the most comfortable and easiest baby carrier yet’—a bold claim!
The aesthetics impressed immediately; it arrived in a lovely box with a thick instruction manual that could double as baby’s first nighttime book. Unboxing revealed a carrier ready to use and incredibly light, with a waistband that feels both structured and flexible. Although I haven’t carried a baby in it yet—perhaps testing with a weighty cabbage this week—its ease of use already puts it leaps and bounds ahead of most carriers I’ve tried in stores.
Ease of Use and Design Features
A complicated carrier is a major turn-off for me; one unnamed model took five minutes just to figure out how to get it over my head. In contrast, the Najell Easy Vol. 2 is not only ergonomic but also easy to put on and take off, looking stylish even on days when I haven’t washed my hair. It shoots straight to the top of my list.
Najell’s baby carriers pioneered a magnetic one-hand fastening system focused on ease of use. Even without a baby, it’s clear how user-friendly it is. I flung the matte black carrier over my shoulders and clicked it into place above my hips in seconds, then used one hand to tighten the straps and secure the magnetic fasteners.
Plus, it’s suitable for newborns up to around three years old without needing inserts, saving families from investing in a separate newborn carrier or wrap for the first few months.
Pricing and Value Considerations
Speaking of investment, priced between £160 and £170, it’s not the cheapest carrier on the market, but it’s also far from the most expensive. While solid carriers can cost as little as £40, this is toward the pricier end, yet it doesn’t approach the £1,000+ you might spend on a designer option.

Potential Drawbacks and Final Thoughts
I’m not a fan of the lack of crossable shoulder straps, due to a back yoke between the two main straps. While this won’t affect my husband, I have narrow shoulders and foresee it becoming an issue. For a newly released carrier, there should be an option for either format.
It would also benefit from a more robust colour selection. The Easy Vol 2 comes in only four colourways: Honey Beige, Leopard Cream, Agave Green, and Matte Black. Given that other viral or influencer-promoted carriers offer more patterns and colours, a bit more pizzazz in this department would be welcome.
That said, my qualms are unlikely to be dealbreakers for most, including myself. I’ll have more thoughts once I can actually carry my baby in it, which I’ll update on here. But comparing the Easy Vol 2 to other carriers I’ve tried, this one has me rethinking those other brands I’ve seen on social media.
