Arrest and Charges
When arrested on February 21, Daley was found carrying a kitchen knife. He was charged with 12 theft offences, one attempted theft, and one count of possession of a bladed article. Additional charges were filed for shoplifting in the West Midlands. During a police interview, when asked about grabbing the entire Mini Eggs display, Daley replied 'no comment'.
Sentencing and Impact
Daley was sentenced to four months imprisonment. Detective Constable Warriner stated: 'Daley is a prolific offender who was brazen in his actions across the country, showing a clear disregard for the law. Shoplifting is not a victimless crime; offenders like Daley have a big financial impact on businesses and an emotional impact on employees. He would have continued targeting businesses across the UK, and I am glad he has been prevented from doing so.'
