Major North London Hub Welcomes New Retail Additions
Coal Drops Yard, a premier shopping and dining destination in north-central London, is set to enhance its vibrant atmosphere with the arrival of three new retailers this summer. This development marks another step in the area's transformation from an industrial wasteland to a bustling retail and leisure hotspot in King's Cross.
New Fashion and Bakery Outlets Announced
The new additions include two prominent fashion brands and an award-winning bakery, all signing long-term leases to establish their presence in this prestigious location. Anthropologie, a global fashion retailer, will open its 21st UK store in a 2,852 square foot unit starting May 6, offering a wide range of clothing and home decor items.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the Outsiders Store, a modern outdoor clothing brand founded in Manchester, is upgrading its existing space. The brand has committed to a further 10-year lease and will relocate to a larger 3,000 square foot area, providing more room for its adventurous apparel collections.
La Maritxu Bakery Brings Authentic Flavors
Adding to the culinary diversity, La Maritxu, a family-run bakery, has signed a 10-year lease for a site on Bagley Walk. Known for its authentic Basque cheesecakes in the San Sebastián style, La Maritxu gained recognition by winning a Great Taste Award in 2023, promising to deliver high-quality desserts to visitors.
Evolution of Coal Drops Yard
Over the past few decades, Coal Drops Yard has rapidly evolved from its industrial origins into a key retail therapy destination. This latest expansion underscores its ongoing growth and appeal, attracting both local residents and tourists seeking unique shopping and dining experiences in London.
The introduction of these new retailers is expected to boost foot traffic and economic activity in the area, solidifying Coal Drops Yard's reputation as a dynamic and evolving hub in the heart of the city.
