Marks & Spencer's iconic Pantheon flagship store on Oxford Street has completed a major makeover, with the opening of two new floors to the public on Monday, July 13. The Grade II-listed art deco building, dating back to 1938, now boasts nearly 100,000 square feet of transformed shopping space across four floors.
New floors and services
The newly opened upper floors feature sections for menswear, kidswear, lingerie and home. Key additions include a bespoke suiting service, a first for M&S menswear, and a dedicated lingerie area. The lower-ground food hall had already opened in August 2025, and the womenswear and beauty areas were refreshed in January 2026. The store remained open throughout the renovation works.
Blueprint for future stores
M&S has described the revamped Pantheon as a 'blueprint' for the brand's future stores. According to M&S, the Pantheon is one of six M&S stores receiving makeovers, with revamps in Whetstone and Bankside already complete. Richmond's branch is scheduled for an upgrade this autumn, with two more locations to be confirmed.
Historic significance
The Pantheon, with its distinctive green lettering and art deco black granite facade, has been a landmark on Oxford Street since 1938. The store's name evokes images of grand temples and architectural greatness, fitting for a flagship that now sets the standard for M&S's retail future.
