Cinnabon Returns to UK Shops with Muffins and Doughnuts After 7-Month Absence
Cinnabon Back in UK with Muffins and Doughnuts

Seven months after Cinnabon abruptly closed all its UK locations, the American bakery chain has made a surprising return — but not in the form fans expected. Instead of the iconic cinnamon buns, Cinnabon-branded muffins and doughnuts are now available in Co-op stores across the country.

New Products Hit Co-op Shelves

The new treats include Cinnabon bakery-inspired muffins and doughnuts, both featuring the brand's signature Makara cinnamon and cream cheese-flavored frosting. The muffins are sold in packs of two for £2, while the doughnuts cost £1.50 for two. They are located in the fresh bakery section of Co-op stores.

Social media users have been quick to share their discoveries. Instagram account @new.foodfindsuk posted a closer look at the muffins, while TikTok food blogger Sherene (@shercyrusx) conducted a taste test, calling the products 'unreal' and 'incredible.' She noted that the doughnut 'actually tastes like a cinnamon bun.'

Mixed Reactions from Fans

While many are excited to try the new offerings, some fans express disappointment that the original cinnamon buns are not back. May Li commented on Facebook: 'I wish it was the Cinnabons themselves, but these look good!' Nick Hutson echoed: 'But of course they’re not selling actual cinnamon buns?!'

Others are thrilled. Jessica Slack wrote: 'Get me to the Co-op ASAP!!!' Dale Rune Cory posted: 'Wait, I thought Cinnabon had shut down all their UK locations last year! Not that I’m complaining, this is very welcome, but it’s still throwing me lol.'

Background on Cinnabon's UK Exit

Cinnabon first launched in the UK in 2020 with ambitious plans for 150 sites, but at its peak it had only 20 stores. By 2023, that number dropped to 12, with locations in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Chester, Newcastle, and Derby. In September 2025, EG On the Move, the partner that brought Cinnabon to the UK, confirmed the closure of all stores, a decision they said was not 'taken lightly.'

Fans were devastated, with many calling the cinnamon buns 'the best' and 'gorgeous.' Now, the brand’s return in Co-op offers a glimmer of hope, even if the original buns remain absent.
