Nicole Kidman extended a public olive branch to her ex-husband, Keith Urban, over the weekend, marking one of the first times she has acknowledged him since their separation last year. The Oscar-winning actress took to social media to wish the father of her children a happy Father's Day, sharing a black-and-white throwback photo of Urban piggybacking their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, as children.
Father's Day Post Includes Late Father
Alongside the image of Urban, Kidman, 59, also posted a photo of her own late father, Dr. Antony Kidman, who passed away in 2014. She captioned the post: 'Happy Father's Day to all the fathers.' The former couple, who were together for nearly 20 years after meeting at the G'Day USA gala in 2005, split in September last year. Reports indicate Kidman filed for divorce, but Urban sought the separation, with sources saying Kidman 'did not want' the divorce and was 'fighting to save the marriage.'
Previous Mother's Day Post Sparked Controversy
The Father's Day tribute comes months after Kidman faced criticism in March for a Mother's Day post that omitted her two older children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, whom she adopted during her marriage to Tom Cruise. In that post, Kidman shared an old image of herself with Sunday and Faith in a desert setting, captioning it: 'To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in the world.' Fans questioned the absence of Bella and Connor, with comments such as 'What about your adopted kids?' and 'What about the other 2??? C'mon, Nicole.' However, defenders noted that both Bella and Connor have 'made it very clear they do not want to be mentioned on public posts at all,' according to a fan.
Custody Arrangements Revealed
Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail have shed light on the custody agreement between Kidman and Urban. The exes agreed that Kidman would have the girls for 306 days of the year, while Urban would be responsible for them for the remaining 59 days. Specifically, Urban's time with his daughters is scheduled from 10 a.m. on Saturdays to 6 p.m. on Sundays every other weekend, with Kidman designated as the 'primary residential parent.' Special occasions are also divided: Kidman gets the girls on Mother's Day and Easter, while Urban has them on Father's Day and Thanksgiving.
