Greene King has placed the freehold of a popular South West London pub on the market. The Teddington Arms, located on Teddington High Street, is being sold as part of the company's new pub estate strategy.
Strategic Decision
The firm announced earlier this year that it would explore selling around 300 pubs identified as better suited under different models. Half of these, including The Teddington Arms, are expected to be sold over the medium term, while the other half will be converted to leased, tenanted, or franchise venues run by independent operators.
Property Details
The freehold includes the ground-floor pub and one two-bedroom flat above, as the remaining upper-floor flats have already been sold on long leases. Property specialists AG&G are marketing the site, with the price available upon request on Rightmove.
Recent History
The Teddington Arms reopened under Greene King's ownership in October 2022 after a revamp. The makeover introduced a new bar area, upgraded seating, and a refreshed food menu.
A Greene King spokesperson stated: "As part of our pub estate strategy to set us up to deliver sustainable and profitable growth for the future, we are now exploring all options available to us regarding the future of the Teddington Arms, including a potential sale. The pub remains open and trading as usual."
