David Beckham Now Richer Than King Charles After Doubling Family Fortune
Beckham Richer Than King After Doubling Fortune

Sir David Beckham has officially become the richest sportsman in the United Kingdom, reaching billionaire status for the first time in the past year. Despite reported tensions with his eldest son Brooklyn, the Beckham family's business ventures have thrived, doubling their wealth since the previous year.

Beckhams Surpass Royal Wealth

The Sunday Times Rich List estimates that the former England captain and his wife, pop icon Victoria Beckham, are now worth an astonishing £1.185 billion. This places their fortune significantly above that of King Charles III, whose personal wealth is estimated at £680 million. The Beckhams' financial growth is largely attributed to Sir David's 26% stake in Inter Miami FC and an extensive property portfolio surrounding the club's stadium in the United States.

Business Ventures and Brand Growth

Over the past year, Victoria Beckham's fashion label and beauty products have also increased in value, contributing to the family's substantial net worth. The couple has long been known for their savvy brand management, collaborating with numerous high-profile companies. Their lucrative deals with Netflix, including individual multi-part documentaries about their family life, have further boosted their income. Initially, Sir David, aged 51, reportedly signed a £16 million agreement with the streaming service, but this figure later rose to £20 million for Victoria's documentary following the success of Beckham's own series.

Family Dynamics and the Brooklyn Rift

Family life has been challenging for the Beckhams recently, with eldest son Brooklyn, 27, reportedly cutting ties with his parents. In January, Brooklyn finally addressed long-standing rumors of a significant rift within the family. Victoria, 52, made a veiled reference to parenting issues involving Brooklyn and his siblings—Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14—during an appearance on Emma Grede's podcast. She and her husband have largely avoided public discussion of the dispute, but when Victoria did address it, she refrained from mentioning Brooklyn by name. Brooklyn now resides in the United States with his wife, Nicola Peltz, daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz.

Comparisons with the Peltz Family

The Beckhams' new billionaire status brings them close to the estimated wealth of the Peltz family, which stands at around $1.6 billion (£1.2 billion). Nicola reportedly receives a monthly allowance of $100,000 (£735,000) from her father. On The Rest is Entertainment podcast, presenter Marina Hyde commented, "From what I hear, I think the Beckhams give Brooklyn a lot of money but not insane money, and they have this dream to some degree that he will stand on his own two feet and become independent." Hyde added, "Maybe Nelson Peltz would deny this, but I hear that he said to them that 'I give my daughter a million dollar a month allowance.' The one thing they didn't think their children would be doing would be the ones signing the prenuptial; they thought it would be the other way round."

Outlook

With their newfound billionaire status, the wealth gap between the Beckhams and the Peltzes has narrowed, but the rift between the Beckhams and Brooklyn may still be difficult to mend. The family's financial success continues to grow, driven by strategic investments and brand expansion.
