£99M Project to Transform Bond Street Station Building by 2029
£99M Bond Street Station Building Transformation by 2029

A £99 million project is set to transform the building above Bond Street station in central London, with work expected to be completed by 2029. The current 1970s structure, which houses shops and offices, will undergo a major modernisation.

Project Details

Plans for the development, named West One, were approved by Westminster City Council in 2024. Last week, McLaren Construction was selected to deliver the project alongside property developer British Land. The scheme will create 94,000 square feet of office space across seven storeys, almost doubling the existing office capacity by adding three new floors.

Design and Features

The redevelopment includes new terraces and landscaped areas, improved retail frontages, and enhanced pedestrian experience at street level. Better connections between Davies Street and Stratford Place are also planned. The top four storeys of the current building will be demolished, while the first and ground floor levels will be partially removed. Facades of the 1970s building will be partly stripped back.

Minimal Disruption Expected

Construction work is expected to cause minimal disruption to shops and transport services. The Central, Jubilee, and Elizabeth lines will remain operational throughout the project. Preparatory work is already underway, and the entire scheme is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2029.
