The Guardian Travel section, in collaboration with travel expert Tom Hall of Lonely Planet, is launching an exciting new competition for culturally curious UK residents. The challenge is simple: share your discovery of a wonderful but lesser-known museum or gallery in Europe for a chance to win a fantastic travel prize.
What Are We Looking For?
While institutions like the Louvre or the Prado attract millions, we want to hear about the hidden gems you've stumbled upon during your travels. This could be a specialist museum dedicated to tapestries in a French village, an offbeat contemporary gallery in a Berlin backstreet, or the preserved studio of a renowned artist in rural Italy. We're seeking those personal, rewarding finds that offer an authentic and crowd-free cultural experience.
The most compelling tip of the week, as chosen by Lonely Planet's Tom Hall, will be awarded a £200 voucher to be used with Coolstays, a company offering a curated selection of over 3,000 unique properties worldwide. The winning entry, along with other standout tips, will be featured in the Guardian Travel section and on its website.
How to Enter and Key Rules
Entries should be concise, around 100 words, focusing on where the venue is and precisely why you loved it. While you may submit a relevant photograph, the judging will be based solely on the quality of your written recommendation.
It is important to note that, for legal reasons, this competition is open only to UK residents aged 18 and over. Entries can be submitted anonymously if preferred. All personal data provided will be used solely for the purpose of this feature and securely deleted afterwards.
The competition deadline is 10am GMT on Monday 26 January. Entries must be submitted via the encrypted form provided by the Guardian, ensuring only their team has access to your contribution.
