Meantime Brewery Returns to Greenwich with New Look & Menu
Meantime Brewery Reopens in Greenwich

One of London's most cherished breweries has triumphantly returned to its original home. After an absence of approximately 18 months, the Meantime brewery has officially reopened in Greenwich, bringing a fresh new look and a vibrant menu to its loyal fans.

A New Chapter for a London Staple

The brewery, which first shut its doors in May 2024 after its owner, Asahi, decided to move production to west London, is now back in southeast London. The new venue, named The Dial, is located at Unit 3, Green Place, Peninsula Square, North Greenwich, SE10 0PE.

This isn't just a simple reopening; it's a significant homecoming for a brand that was born in the borough. Meantime Brewery was founded by Alastair Hook in his Greenwich flat in 1999, starting as a venture to create beer for his neighbours. It grew to become a staple brew across London before its acquisition by Asahi in 2016.

What to Expect at The Dial

The Dial offers more than just a pint. Patrons can enjoy classic Meantime beers that are brewed directly on site, including favourites like Midnight Nitro Brew Stout, Dial Lager, and Cutty Haze. The establishment also features a food menu and serves as a hub for entertainment, showing live sport and hosting local music performances.

Commenting on this exciting development, head brewer Sven Hartmann said: ‘Greenwich is where Meantime began. The Dial is our chance to honour that history while continuing to explore bold flavours and new beer styles.’

A Welcome Return for London's Beer Lovers

The return of Meantime to Greenwich fills a notable gap in the area's social and cultural landscape. For nearly a year and a half, locals and visitors alike missed having this iconic brewery in its founding community. Its revival in the new North Greenwich location signals a renewed commitment to its roots and offers a modern destination for both dedicated connoisseurs and casual drinkers to enjoy quality, locally brewed beer.
