Europe's newest mega-hotel, boasting a pool more than double the Olympic standard, opens this week on the Baltic Sea coast. The five-star Gołębiewski Pobierowo in Pobierowo, Poland, will welcome its first guests on Wednesday, June 17.
A Colossal New Destination
With 13 floors, 1,240 rooms, and 80,000 square metres of space, the hotel ranks third largest in Europe, behind London's Royal National Hotel (1,630 rooms) and Bucharest's Rin Grand Hotel (1,459 rooms). Rooms start at £300 (€350) per night, with suites up to £775 (€900). Marketing chief Marta Maslowska reported over 2,000 bookings in the first 24 hours. However, only 500 of the 1,240 rooms are currently completed, according to German outlet BILD.
Facilities and Attractions
Guests can enjoy a vast outdoor pool measuring 104 metres long and 60 metres wide, a water park with whirlpools and slides, a sauna, and a salt grotto. Additional amenities include a cinema, supermarket, climbing walls, bowling alley, volleyball courts, a lobby pianist, and a children's disco. Four themed restaurants are promised, though themes remain undisclosed.
Location and Surroundings
The hotel sits on the banks of Plaża w Pobierowie, a 2.5-mile beach with white sand and clear Baltic waters. Nearby attractions include the village of Trzęsacz with its 15th-century church and interactive museum, and the town of Pobierowo offering an outdoor inflatable park and treetop climbing in summer.
Travel and Accessibility
Pobierowo is about an hour from Solidarity Szczecin-Goleniów Airport, served by Ryanair from Liverpool and London Stansted. Flight times from London are under two hours. The hotel's Instagram account already has over 9,000 followers.
Rising Popularity of Poland's Baltic Coast
Poland's Baltic region has seen increased tourism as visitors seek milder climates over southern Europe's heat. Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia have been popular. Katarzyna Smierzchalska, marketing manager at Hotel Nadmorski in Gdynia, noted that international guests are looking for relief from intense heat. Further east, resorts in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are also seeing a rise in visitors. Lithuania's capital Vilnius recorded 10 million international arrivals in 2025. Coastal areas like Palanga are increasingly popular for beach breaks without Mediterranean heat. Ryanair flies direct to Palanga from London Stansted from around £88 return.
