The iconic Tiger Tiger nightclub on London's Haymarket, which closed its doors in late 2024, is poised for a dramatic comeback. Its lease has been acquired by hospitality group NEOS in a deal that promises a 'multi-million pound' redevelopment of the famous site.
A 'World-First' Vision for the West End
NEOS Hospitality, which operates 19 bars and clubs across the UK, has announced ambitious plans to create a 'world-first' hospitality experience within the 13,000 square foot space. The company aims to open the new venue in the late summer of 2026, marking its first major investment in the capital.
The closure of Tiger Tiger was attributed to shifting audience trends and London's evolving night-time economy. The new venture is a partnership between NEOS and Criterion Capital, the real estate owner of the Central London building. While the exact concept and name remain under wraps, the venue is expected to align with NEOS's existing portfolio of modern party bars and late-night spots.
Complete Transformation of an Iconic Space
The project will involve a complete overhaul of the interior. Plans include reconfigured layouts and the installation of state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems to provide an immersive, high-quality design. The goal is to create a versatile destination that caters to the diverse crowds of Haymarket, from tourists and theatre-goers to local Londoners.
Russell Quelch, CEO of NEOS Hospitality, stated: "This is about much more than reopening a well-known site, it's about reinvesting in a key part of the West End and making it relevant again... Our aim is to create a venue that works just as well at lunchtime as it does late at night." He emphasised the significant long-term investment and job creation the project will bring.
Reinventing a Key London District
Omar Aziz, Deputy Managing Director at Criterion Capital, highlighted the firm's commitment to revitalising underused spaces in the West End. He expressed confidence that the partnership would "inject fresh energy into one of London's most iconic districts" and support the growth of the city's experience economy.
It is worth noting that Criterion Capital secured planning permission in January 2025 to develop an eight-storey hotel with a restaurant and bar on the site. However, any use of the remainder of the building will be entirely separate from the NEOS Hospitality operation.
Local Westminster City ward councillors have welcomed the news, stating they look forward to hearing more detailed plans. Further announcements regarding the venue's concept are expected in the coming weeks.
