EE Offers £300 to Cover Broadband Switching Fees in Winter Deal
EE pays £300 to cover broadband switching fees

Telecoms giant EE is making a bold play to attract new broadband customers this winter, offering to cover up to £300 in early exit fees for those leaving their current provider. This financial incentive is designed to sweeten the deal for consumers locked into contracts elsewhere who are considering a switch.

The Core Offer: Full Fibre and Fee Coverage

Central to the promotion is EE's Full Fibre 100 broadband package, available for £26.99 per month on a 24-month contract with no upfront costs. This service promises download speeds of up to 100Mbps and includes EE's latest Smart Hub with WiFi 7 technology for improved whole-home coverage.

The standout feature, however, is the pledge to reimburse any charges incurred from terminating a rival contract prematurely. While the discounted broadband price is a limited-time offer expected to end on 5 December 2025, EE states that the £300 switching fee contribution is a permanent fixture of its customer acquisition strategy.

How EE Stacks Up Against the Competition

The UK broadband market is fiercely competitive, especially in the wake of Black Friday. EE faces direct rivalry from its own sister company, Plusnet (both part of BT Group), which is currently offering a faster Full Fibre 145 package for £22.99 a month, plus a £50 reward card. However, Plusnet does not cover switching fees.

Sky Broadband presents another alternative, with its Full Fibre 150 service priced at £25 monthly and a promise to contribute up to £200 towards exit fees. Potential customers should note, however, that Ofcom data cited in the report indicates Sky received a significantly higher-than-average number of customer complaints.

EE's strength, according to the same Ofcom report, lies in customer satisfaction, where it ranks as one of the top providers, second only to Plusnet.

Important Considerations Before You Switch

Prospective switchers must be aware of a few key details. All EE contracts, including this offer, are subject to annual price increases from 31 March. Furthermore, accessing any 'Full Fibre' service is dependent on infrastructure; customers must check if fibre optic cables are available directly to their home, not just to the local street cabinet, to achieve the advertised speeds.

For those unhappy with their current service, looking for faster speeds, or hoping to escape an expensive deal, the advice is clear: use a postcode checker to confirm availability and act swiftly. With the discounted pricing set to vanish, time is of the essence for bargain hunters.
