The hacker group Cyberleek, which claimed responsibility for the recent GTA 6 leak, has threatened to release further material unless Rockstar Games meets their demands, including a public apology over the lack of a physical disc option for pre-orders. The group, which posted gameplay clips and a map image online earlier this week, is targeting publishers they accuse of violating their 'three commandments.'
Cyberleek's Demands and the 'Three Commandments'
According to the group's website, Cyberleek is targeting game publishers who breach any of its three rules. In Rockstar's case, the violation relates to the first commandment: 'If publishers want revenue before launch, they can press discs. Print boxes. Put them on shelves. Earn that money through physical production.' The other two rules address 'fake single-player DLC' — content already present in base game files — and preserving single-player content through an 'offline fallback state' to allow gameplay even after server support ends.
The leakers stated, 'Cyberleek will continue to disrupt their operations until they issue a public statement and apology with a concrete commitment to fix the harm they caused. No private negotiations. No quiet settlements. The public sees it, or the 'leeks' do not stop.' They added, 'Publishers should beware. If Cyberleek can reach Rockstar, no one is safe.'
Condemnation From the Stop Killing Games Movement
Stop Killing Games, a movement advocating for consumer protections and game preservation, released a statement condemning the hackers. 'Using illegal means to make a point is unacceptable to us and does nothing to protect our right to keep using what we paid for,' the statement read. 'No matter how strongly you disagree with the decisions of upper management at these companies, there are still thousands of developers who worked hard on this project – and they're the ones being hit the hardest.'
The group urged, 'Channel that frustration into something constructive instead. This kind of act is destructive and helps no one, worse, it risks tarnishing the reputation of our communities and our chances to make change. History isn't on the leaker's side either: the last person who did this to Rockstar, back in 2022, ended up with an indefinite hospital order. This isn't a cause worth risking your money or your future on.'
Upcoming GTA 6 Reveal and Release Date
Rockstar is scheduled to show more from GTA 6 during an Extended Look on Netflix next Thursday, potentially rendering the leaked content redundant, especially as an insider claims the footage comes from an old build of the title. GTA 6 is set to launch across PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
