Fire under control but crews remain on scene
Station Commander Craig Abbott, attending the scene, confirmed that the fire is now under control. 'At the height of the fire, a department store was alight. Crews will remain on scene until the morning to fully extinguish the fire and dampen down remaining hotspots,' he said. He noted that a significant amount of smoke was produced, and traffic in the area is likely to remain impacted, urging the public to avoid the area if possible.
