Dunelm opens new store in former M&S in Kingston

Dunelm has opened a new high street superstore in Kingston upon Thames, bringing its homewares range to a new town centre location. The new store officially opened on Thursday 25 June 2026 at the former Marks & Spencer building at 69–75 Clarence Street, KT1 1RB, with a ribbon cutting ceremony before doors opened to the public at 9am.

Opening Day Promotions

To mark the launch, the first 50 customers through the doors received an exclusive goody bag worth £20. Dunelm also hid 20 gift cards around Kingston town centre on the morning of opening, with shoppers able to find cards worth between £5 and £50 and take them into the store to discover their prize.

Store Features

Spanning 34,000 sq ft across two floors, the new store has been designed as a home inspiration destination, with styled displays across departments including bedding, curtains, kitchen, storage, lighting, bathroom, blinds, decorative accessories and more.

The Kingston branch also features a newly designed Pausa café, giving shoppers a place to relax during their visit. Families visiting over the school holidays can take advantage of Dunelm’s kids eat free offer at the café, which includes a children’s main, drink and two snacks with every £4 spent.

Technology and Convenience

The store includes new self-checkouts and a dedicated Click & Collect hub, with free collection available in as little as two hours, subject to availability. Customers collecting larger purchases will also have access to dedicated parking.

Expansion Plans

The opening is part of Dunelm’s wider expansion plans, as the retailer continues to explore new store formats and locations across the UK and Ireland. It is the brand’s third new-format London store, following openings at Westfield White City and Wandsworth last year.

The new Kingston store is expected to create 48 jobs locally.
