Search for Two US Soldiers Missing in Morocco

A rescue operation is underway for two US service personnel who went missing during military exercises in Morocco. The two soldiers disappeared in south-western Morocco after taking part in annual multinational military exercises, the United States Africa Command (Africom) said Sunday.

Search and Rescue Efforts

The US, Morocco, and other countries involved in the war games have launched a search and rescue operation to track down the soldiers. They went missing on May 2 near the Cap Draa training area near Tan Tan, close to the Atlantic Ocean. Both personnel are with the Army and were on a hike when they are believed to have fallen from a cliff and into the ocean, according to reports.

Helicopters, drones, and naval vessels, as well as mountaineers and divers, are all involved in the search. Africom said in a statement: 'The incident remains under investigation and the search is ongoing.'
