Red Arrows Flypast Route and Times for Trooping the Colour 2026
Red Arrows Flypast Route and Times for Trooping the Colour

The Royal Air Force’s acclaimed Red Arrows are poised to deliver a spectacular display today, June 13, 2026, as part of the Trooping the Colour celebrations honoring King Charles III. The aerial performance will accompany a ceremonial parade through central London, marking the monarch’s official birthday alongside other members of the royal family. Spectators eager to witness this impressive feat are in luck, as the aircraft will fly directly over the capital this weekend. Here is everything you need to know about the Trooping the Colour schedule and the flypast route.

What time is the Red Arrows flypast and where are they flying?

The flypast will cap off the Trooping the Colour parade, which concludes at 1pm when the King and the royal family appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the display soar over the iconic landmark. Before reaching London, the Red Arrows will traverse parts of the UK, departing from RAF Waddington around 11am and flying over the Norfolk and Suffolk coasts. Around midday, the jets will pass over Colchester, Reading, and Chelmsford en route to London for the main event at 1pm. After the display, they will head toward Windsor and Slough, then continue to Northampton and Colsterworth.

How can I watch the Trooping the Colour flypast?

Trooping the Colour will be broadcast live on the BBC in the UK, covering the parade from 10.30am to 12.25pm at Buckingham Palace, as well as the flypast. The event can also be viewed from The Mall and surrounding areas, as per The King’s Birthday Parade. Those near the Red Arrows’ route may catch a glimpse simply by stepping outside their homes.

What aircraft will be taking part?

The official list of participating aircraft has not yet been released, but it is expected to resemble last year’s lineup. The 2025 flypast featured 29 aircraft, including four Chinooks, a BBMF Lancaster, two Texans, an A400M Atlas, six Typhoons, two Juno helicopters, a C-17 Globemaster, two F-35B Lightnings, and the Red Arrows.

This display marks the start of the Red Arrows’ summer schedule. At the end of May, they kicked off the season at the English Riviera Airshow in Torbay. Additional performances are confirmed for the summer, including the RAF Cosford Airshow on June 14 and several flights across the United States in July, before returning to the UK in August and heading to mainland Europe. Recently, the Red Arrows announced a reduction from nine Hawk T1 jets to seven due to maintenance on the aging fleet.
