Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning for Easyjet customers that is actually great news for holidaymakers planning summer 2027 trips. The Money Saving Expert founder took to Instagram and TikTok to announce that July 28, 2028 is an Easyjet flight release day, offering a key opportunity to secure lower fares.
Dynamic pricing means early birds save
Easyjet uses dynamic pricing, where flight costs rise with demand. Lewis explained: 'The most predictable time to get cheap flights is exactly the moment it releases the flights because there’s minimum demand at that time because they weren’t available beforehand.' He noted that nearly 14 million seats across 78,000 flights will be released.
Exact release time unknown
Easyjet has not disclosed the exact release time. Lewis said: 'I don’t know, Easyjet won’t say. Past experience: sometimes it’s six o’clock tomorrow morning, sometimes it’s five o’clock, sometimes it’s spread throughout the morning.' The Easyjet website currently shows a banner: 'Summer 2027. Keep your eyes peeled, new flights will be landing soon…'
Example of potential savings
Lewis shared an example where a follower booked flights to Spain for four people with luggage at £740 on release day, but within hours the same tickets jumped to £950. He cautioned: 'The release price isn’t guaranteed the cheapest, but it’s usually the cheapest predictable time that you can buy.'
Advice for holidaymakers
To maximise savings, customers should set an early alarm and have a clear idea of their destination and travel dates. Lewis added: 'I’m just saying if you want to try and bag cheap flights for summer 2027, tomorrow morning is a crucial time to try.' He did not claim Easyjet would be cheaper than other airlines overall.
