Legton Zulu, a 39-year-old HGV driver and church deacon, died in a collision between two lorries on the M25 in Essex. His family said he will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud father, and faithful servant of God, and that his legacy will "live on in the hearts of all who knew him."
Fatal crash on the M25
The collision occurred on the anti-clockwise carriageway near junction 27 in Essex at around 4:20am on June 16. Two lorries were involved, and Mr. Zulu died at the scene. Emergency services also dealt with a lorry fire between junctions 27 and 26 earlier that day.
Tribute from the family
In a statement released through Essex Police, Mr. Zulu's family said: "Legton Zulu was a devoted and loving husband, a proud father, a faithful servant of God, and a respected member of his community. He leaves behind his beloved wife and their three young sons, aged 9, 6 and 4, who have been deeply affected by his sudden and tragic passing."
Mr. Zulu, who lived in Kettering, Northamptonshire, had worked as an HGV driver for more than 15 years. He also served as a deacon in Forward in Faith Ministries International (ZAOGA FIFMI).
The family continued: "Legton was a man who genuinely loved people. He was kind, generous and always willing to help others. He touched many lives through his friendship, his service, and his passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, faithful servant of God and a true friend to many. He fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. His legacy of love, faith and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him."
Police appeal for witnesses
Essex Police are appealing for witness statements and dashcam footage from the area of the M25 near junction 27 on the morning of the collision. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Essex Police via 101, online form, or Live Chat, quoting incident 130 of Tuesday 16 June.
