London is set to bask in glorious 23C sunshine this weekend, but forecasters warn of a rainy twist for the early May Bank Holiday. According to the BBC, Saturday, May 2, will see temperatures reach a toasty 23C, marking the peak of a three-day warm spell from Friday, May 1, to Sunday, May 3, with highs of 21C or above each day.
Warm Spell to End in Rain
The balmy conditions are expected to take a turn for the worse by Monday, May 4, the early May Bank Holiday, when wet weather returns with four consecutive days of rain. The Met Office's long-range forecast echoes this gloomy outlook, predicting more changeable conditions into the first week of May.
The Met Office statement reads: "Into the first week of May, conditions will probably become more changeable with low pressure systems becoming more likely. This means an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, with a risk of strong winds at times."
