Over the past few months, UK high streets have seen an influx of US fast food chains, with Popeyes, Dave's Hot Chicken, and Chick-fil-A all opening locations. The trend continues as another major chain confirms its arrival across the Atlantic.
Raising Cane's, known for its chicken fingers, is finally set to open in the UK. However, fans will need to wait a bit longer to try it. Here is everything you need to know.
When is Raising Cane's opening in the UK?
The chain first announced plans for a UK flagship in September 2025. Recently, branding has gone up at the new site between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. No official opening date has been set, but it is expected to open later this year at 21-22 Coventry Street in London. This marks the start of a global expansion, with more restaurants planned in London and Europe. Potential locations include The Strand, Oxford Circus, Paddington, and South Bank, as well as drive-thru sites in Greater London and beyond.
What is on the menu at Raising Cane's?
The menu is simple, featuring five core items: Crispy Chicken Fingers, Craveable Cane's Sauce, Buttery Cane's Toast, Crunchy Coleslaw, and Crispy crinkle-cut fries. A viral hit is the ability to buy a full cup of sauce for around $7 in the US, though Popeyes beat them to launching mega dips in the UK in December 2025.
What do customers think of the food?
Reviews are mixed. Some Reddit users call it 'spectacular' and 'divine,' praising the toast and sauce. Others say the chicken fingers are 'done right' and 'good quality.' On TikTok, one reviewer called it 'unreal' and 'the best chicken he'd ever had,' while another gave it a 10/10 for being 'so crispy and not greasy.' However, some find it 'mid' and 'bland.'
Raising Cane's has been serving its core items since 1996, when founder Todd Graves launched the business in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He built the first restaurant by hand, opening on August 28, 1996. Today, there are over 950 locations across the US and the Middle East.
Graves said: 'I'm thrilled to finally be opening in the UK late next year. We receive more requests to come to the UK than anywhere else in the world... It has always been a dream of mine to bring Cane's to the UK.'
Co-CEO and COO AJ Kumaran added: 'Bringing Raising Cane's to the UK has been a dream of ours for many years... Europe presents an excellent expansion opportunity.'
