Peter Andre has reversed his earlier decision and will appear in the upcoming third season of his daughter Princess Andre's ITV reality series 'The Princess Diaries', the singer confirmed.
Peter Andre's change of heart
The 53-year-old star, currently performing as Nikos in 'Mamma Mia! The Party' at The O2, had initially been reported to skip the new season. However, he now says he will make cameo appearances. 'For me, reality shows were fun back in the day, but now I like seeing the younger ones doing it. I'm more happy giving advice. I'm really proud of her. They're good kids,' he told The Sun.
Explaining his role, he added: 'I pop in a little bit. It's her show but I pop in. They came to see the show [Mamma Mia! The Party] and filmed it, so they'll be some of that footage.'
Background on 'The Princess Diaries'
The show, which follows Princess Andre as she turns 19 and navigates early adulthood, has already aired two successful seasons. It features her brother Junior and other family members. Katie Price, Princess's mother, did not appear in the first season amid claims she was barred by Peter, but Princess denied any rift, stating scheduling simply worked out for her father.
Peter's parenting style and new projects
Peter also revealed his parenting approach has evolved. 'I am quite strict but I'm chilled now. They are quite grown up. They are really grounded and polite. My strictness has kind of calmed down. But I still have some strict rules, they can't have boyfriends and girlfriends in the bedroom and the reason I'm like that, even though they're adults, I don't want the younger kids seeing that.'
He teased a major upcoming TV project with his wife Emily MacDonagh: 'I've got some big announcements, me and Emily have a massive announcement soon, but that's very soon. I'm so excited.'
Katie Price's own series
Meanwhile, Katie Price recently released her tell-all reality series 'Katie Price: Nothing to Hide', produced by Louis Theroux's company. It covers her life from birth to present, including her time as Jordan, marriages, and struggles. Junior and Princess appear, with an emotional scene where they break down discussing her drug use.
Season one and two of 'The Princess Diaries' are available to stream on ITVX.
