KP Snacks has discontinued four classic flavours of its KP Crisps brand: Salted, Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, and Beef. The decision ends decades of production for the budget-friendly crisps, which were often sold in pubs and corner shops rather than supermarkets.
KP Snacks confirms discontinuation
A KP Snacks spokesperson told Metro: “We have made the decision to discontinue KP Crisps Salted, Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar and Beef as we focus on our wider portfolio. We understand these products have a loyal following and thank consumers for their continued support of our brands.” The crisps ranged from 55p for a 25g single bag to £3.50 for larger or multipacks.
Fans react with devastation
Online, fans expressed their dismay. On Reddit, user u/deidretown hailed KP as the “King of Crisps.” u/Willing-Confusion-56 said: “KP beef are elite in sarnies.” Another user, u/Internal-Fan-2434, joked: “F**k nooooooo. Setting up a gofundme page so that y’all can send me all the boxes to keep safe. These are the daddy.” u/Dnny10bns added: “Beef crisps hit different. Epic.”
Beef flavour praised as best
u/AstraVexy commented: “They were like the perfect cheap pub crisp with a weirdly legit beefy flavour.” u/beefhammer_ called the beef flavour their “favourite crisps ever” and claimed they were “Best beef crisp you could get and KP crisps in general are far superior to Walkers.”
Where to find last stocks
Final stocks remain available in some pubs, as well as on eBay, Approved Food, and SnacksOnline. The brand, originally founded as Kenyon & Son in Rotherham in 1853, rebranded to Kenton Produce in 1948 and began crisp making the same year.
