Analytics firm Level Up has released a ranking of the most popular games from the recent Summer Game Fest showcases, with God of War Laufey taking the top spot. The list, compiled via The Game Business, measures trailer views, press coverage, and community engagement to determine the top 10 most talked-about titles.
Top 10 Most Popular Games
God of War Laufey achieved the highest score, benefiting from Sony's State of Play presentation airing first and featuring 23 minutes of gameplay footage, accumulating 7.3 million views. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake followed in second place, while Resident Evil Veronica took third, despite being a relatively obscure entry in the franchise.
Marvel's Wolverine ranked fourth, and Gears of War: E-Day came fifth. The latter was the focus of the Xbox Games Showcase but had lower trailer views, with its gameplay demo reaching only 433,000 views. Kingdom Hearts 4 claimed sixth place, outperforming Persona 6 (seventh) and Final Fantasy 7: Revelation (eighth).
Spyro: A Realm Beyond surprised at ninth, boasting the most popular trailer on YouTube with over 16 million views. Until Dawn 2 rounded out the top ten, with its trailer garnering 1.5 million YouTube views, close to Resident Evil Veronica's 1.8 million.
Platform Performance and Surprises
Sony had a strong showing with three titles in the top ten, while Microsoft had two (including Spyro from Activision) and Nintendo one with the Zelda remake. Notable absentees include Fable, Halo: Campaign Evolved, Alien: Isolation 2, gen ATLAS, Xenoblade Genesis, and Senua.
